International conference deals blow to US on labelling of gene modified food

The first meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol (COP-MOP) on Biosafety took place in Kuala Lumpur from 23-27 February 2004. The Conference agreed to impose stricter labelling requirements on genetically modified food.
