Introduction to the European Institutions and EU policy-making processes

This document is an up-dated compilation of the information on the EU and older people. It deals firstly with the major European Institutions setting out their respective roles in the European political processes. Secondly, the processes themselves are explained both in terms of their political history and their current methods. The document is designed to be a useful tool for older people's associations in the acceding countries as they prepare for full involvement in EU social policy work and the AGE network. The report is also very useful to any one wishing to learn more about EU policies of interest to older people.
