Students of European politics at Gettysburg College in America have been given a Thespian challenge that would cause even the most proficient alumni of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to cower.

They are taking part in an enactment of life in the European Parliament as part of their course, “The European Union: Progress and Policy”.

The Gettysburg students have been selected to play German Euro MPs and participants have been bombarding their real-life counterparts with requests for details of their work on parliamentary committees, their relations with the Commission and the member states and, no doubt, how to get back-to-back air tickets for far-away group meetings and legitimately claim the full fare on expenses.

Entre Nous has already offered to do the advance publicity, billing the production as “the compelling tale of one institution's unbridled lust for the crown, a gripping saga of the struggle for power, a tragic tale of greed and glory, a fight of might and right in which there can only be losers...”
