Italy demands EU protection for tomatoes

Italy and Spain requested at the Agriculture and Fisheries Council on 15 February 2016 great protection to guard against the threat of competition from the Moroccan tomato-growing industry.

The discussion was developed alongside criticism regarding plans to increase the amount of duty-free olive oil that can be imported into the internal market, specially from Tunisia [click here for more information].
