On 23 December 2013, the Council adopted Decision 2013/798/CFSP providing for arms embargo against the Central African Republic, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2127 (2013) of 5 December 2013. Further action by the Union is needed in order to implement Decision 2013/798/CFSP. The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the Commission therefore issue a proposal for a Regulation concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in the Central African Republic. |
