The judgment of the Court of Justice in Case C-573/14
Commissaire général aux réfugiés et aux apatrides v Mostafa Lounani was given on the 31 January 2017. In it the judges said that an application for asylum could be rejected if the asylum seeker has participated in the activities of a terrorist network. It was not necessary that the asylum seeker personally committed terrorist acts, or instigated such acts, or participated in their commission.
