Juncker backs Schulz bid for Parliament chair

Article suggests that the President of the European Parliament had started a campaign to remain President for a third consecutive term. Normally, he would be expected to cede the Presidency to a member of the centre-right European People's Party (EPP) midway through the 2014-2019 term of the European Parliament as part of the 'grand coalition' deal between the EPP and Schulz's Socialist Group.

However, the article also suggests that the primary ambition of Mr Schulz is to return to national German politics as leader of the SPD, and to become a government minister.
