King calls for G20 ‘metamorphosis’ / Eurozone seeks political voice at G20

The Group of 20 should develop voting procedures and 'metamorphose' to become the governing body of the International Monetary Fund to enhance its legitimacy and promote balanced world growth, Mervyn King, governor of the Bank of England, said on the 19 January 2010.

Separately senior European economic policymakers from the eurozone are pressing for the 16-nation eurogroup to be granted political representation at the increasingly influential Group of G20 leading economies.
