Kosovo seeks €1.4bn to bolster independence

On 11 July 2008, the European Commission held a donors' conference for Kosovo. The purpose of the conference was to mobilise external assistance to support Kosovo’s socio-economic development with the aim of bringing greater prosperity to all people, contributing to a sustainable growth and to consolidate democratic institutions and practices.
