Labour to play down euro issue ahead of election

The UK Labour party is to play down the single currency issue in the run-up to the general election, but senior figures on both sides of the party believe Tony Blair will not narrow his options on the timing of a referendum. A government member said that 'the general election is not going to be a referendum on the euro'.
