Last chance to register to vote at the EU Referendum

Since the launch of the (UK) Electoral Commission’s public awareness campaign on 15 May 2016, over 1.35 million people additional electors had applied to register to vote online across Great Britain, in advance of the EU referendum on the 23 June 2016.

The closing date to register was the 7 June 2016. Following a last minute rush to register during the 7 June and especially during the late evening the online registration system collapsed. The Government made clear on the 8 June 2016 it would allow registration until the end of the 9 June 2016.
