Launch of a new partnership between the European Union and the Community of Portuguese-speaking countries (CPLP)

The European Commission and the Executive Secretariat of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) signed on 7 November 2007 a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a new partnership between the two organisations.

This partnership aimed at fighting against poverty, fostering democracy and human rights, cultural diversity and economic and social development.
