Although new technologies are constantly forcing us to change the way we work and learn and sometimes play havoc with labour and stock markets, they are a teacher's dream, for they act as a real incentive to keep on learning whatever the age or field. 'Lifelong learning' is now a necessity, and the European Union's Heads of State or Government reiterated the importance of this at the European Council in Stockholm in March 2001. |
