At the Hofburg itself, security was placed in the safe paws of sniffer dogs, who, without the need for microphones up their sleeves or sunglasses, diligently patrolled the area, identifiable by their summit passes attached to their collars. This was a precaution to distinguish bona fide hounds from any strays who might gate-crash and masquerade as official delegates.
