Lithuania GDP fall highlights economic woes

Article reports that Lithuania revealed the full extent of economic turmoil sweeping the Baltic states on the 28 July 2009 when it announced a 22.4% decline in gross domestic product during the second quarter of 2009.

The steeper-than-expected drop raised doubts about the country’s ability to survive the crisis without international help and increased concern about the plight of neighbouring Latvia and Estonia.
