During the 'Sectorial Fisheries Conference', which took place in Valencia on 3 February 2003, the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) and the independent regional authorities (Comunidades Autónomas; CCAA) analysed the current status of the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy. The debate centred on conservation and sustainable exploitation of fishing resources and on structural aid.
