Article reported that Dmitry Medvedev, Russian President, sacked the country’s Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin on the 26 september 2011, in the clearest sign yet that a deal announced days earlier between Mr Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to swap jobs in 2012 was provoking a backlash in Moscow political circles.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin named Anton Siluanov as acting finance minister on the 27 September 2011 after Alexei Kudrin's dramatic departure from government.
