Memo: Commissioner Malmström welcomes European Parliament committee vote on the amended Directive on standards for the qualification and status of third country nationals or stateless persons as refugees or as beneficiaries of subsidiary protection

The European Parliament’s Civil, Justice and Home Affairs Committee approved the proposal to amend the Directive on minimum standards for the qualification and status of third country nationals or stateless persons as refugees or as persons who otherwise need international protection and the content of the protection granted (COM 2009/551). The amendment was proposed by the Commission in October 2009.
