On 17 December 2007 the European Commission approved an Operational Programme for the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands in Spain for the period 2007-2013. This Operational Programme comes under the Regional Competitiveness and Employment objective and has a total budget of some 226 million euros. Community assistance through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) amounts to around 107 million euros, representing approximately 0.3% of total EU investment in Spain under the cohesion policy for 2007-2013. The anticipated national contribution is 119 million euros, and may consist partially of Community loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and other loan instruments |
