Date: 23/01/1997 There have been more Parliamentary comings and goings, with Dutch MEP James Janssen van Raay leaving the Christian Democrat EPP on less than friendly terms. Van Raay had promised a long time ago to give up his seat halfway into his five-year term, says the EPP faction. Abandoning the party means he is no longer obliged to honour that commitment to go by 1 January. Van Raay has still to announce a new party affiliation. |
