MEPs speak out against GMOs in ‘New Alliance’ food strategy for Africa

The European Parliament's development committee approved a resolution on 20 April 2016 calling for the European Union not to support the introduction of GMOs in Africa and criticisng the New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition (NAFSN), a programme for African agricultural development.

The NAFSN was launched in 2012 and it is a programme financed by the G8 countries and the European Union.
