Mergers and acquisitions

A new journal from DG ECFIN of the European Commission, which aims to cover recent M&A developments and set M&A in the context of other key economic issues. The first part of each issue will consist of an overview of M&A activity over the previous six months (in this first issue, the overview covers the whole of 2003). The second part will look at a specific M&A topic in more depth. This first issue looks at international M&A activity and discusses the impact of globalisation. It analyses to what extent the distribution of M&A has been affected by EU enlargement and the emergence of fast growing markets, such as India and China. The Note is to be published twice a year.
