Mergers: Commission clears acquisition of Vattenfall Europe Generation and Vattenfall Europe Mining by EPH and PPF Investments

On the 22 September 2016, the European Commission cleared the proposed acquisition of Vattenfall Europe Generation and Vattenfall Europe Mining by Energetický a Průmyslový Holding (EPH) and PPF Investments (PPF). It was concluded that the transaction would not distort the competition on the market for the excavation and supply of lignite. The deal had been notified on the 18 August 2016.
