Germany's Chancellor agreed on 9 February 2017 with the leaders of the country's 16 states to a plan speeding up the deportation process for migrants denied asylum.

The 16-point plan includes a proposal for the creation of a central coordination centre that would include representatives from each state. Additionally, the agreement calls for federal deportation centres to be set up near airports to facilitate collective deportations.
