Mexican and EU negotiators said that important progress had been made

towards securing a free trade agreement at last week's talks in Brussels. Although discussions are at an early stage, the two sides edged a step closer towards agreeing common texts on competition, public procurement and intellectual property. The next round of talks will take place in the Belgian capital on 8-12 March.
