Denmark’s justice minister Søren Pind showed his concerns that his country would increasingly miss out on important information that could prevent terrorist attacks, following the referendum in December 2015 which rejected a proposal from the government to change its status from being exempt from EU Justice and Home Affairs to a new position where it could ‘opt-in’ on legislation on a case-by-case basis.

The statement was made after a meeting of EU Justice ministers on 24 March 2016, in which ministers agreed to step up the information sharing between intelligence services.
