Hilary Benn, United Kingdom Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs unveiled on the 5 January 2010 the UK Government’s food strategy 'Food 2030' at the Oxford Farming Conference. The Strategy sets out goals for 2030, and the changes that need to be made to achieve them.

Genetically modified crops were back on the menu, along with reform of the European common agricultural policy.
