Date: 19/10/1995 ...compared with just 25&percent; in Portugal, according to a survey by Eurostat, the statistical arm of the European Commission. It found that more than 24 million Europeans (21&percent; of the workforce) work on Sundays and 23 million work the whole weekend. Of the nine million who worked at home, 4&percent; said it was their regular workplace. The UK tops the league for home working, with 22&percent; of employees either usually or occasionally operating from home, three times more than in any other EU country. |
