A Moscow court ruled on the 29 November 2012 that websites must remove video clips of the Pussy Riot female punk band, two of whose members are in jail.

During the summer of 2012 Russia's parliament voted into law the creation of an internet blacklist that would allow portal sites such as Wikipedia and YouTube to be blocked if they did not comply with requests to remove specific web pages if they were considered harmful for children.
