Date: 07/12/1995 Edith Cresson's Chef de Cabinet François Lamoureux has finally been nominated for the job of deputy director-general in DGI (external relations), overseeing the Commission's technical assistance programmes. The vacancy was created by the departure of Robert Verrue to become director-general in DGXIII (telecommunications). Verrue was not replaced by his own deputy Jean-Luc Demarty, who is making his own move to become a director in DGXII (science, research and development). Hot tip to replace Lamoureux as Cresson's new chef is Jean-François Marchipont, now working in DGIII (industry).
