Nato chiefs step up push for nations to pool resources

Nato’s Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, wants the alliance’s 26 countries to intensify discussion at an informal Defence Ministers meeting, October 2007 on how they can better demonstrate solidarity in the field of defence spending, in order to avoid the military overstretch burdening many states.
