Nato expansion moves closer

Nato has taken a major step in its drive for eastward expansion, with the ambassadors of the 19 member countries in the North Atlantic Council signing accession documents 26 March 2003 to accept seven more members: Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
