Further information:

The summit of Heads of State or Government (alongside other key partners) sought to address NATO's most pressing challenges, further strengthen the Alliance's deterrence and defence, and bring Ukraine closer to the Alliance.

Ahead of the summit, Turkey announced it would drop its objections over Sweden's NATO accession following months of stalled progress. In the aftermath of the meeting, analysts highlighted the disappointment on the Ukrainian side that no formal invitation was forwarded to the country as regards NATO membership, despite the security guarantees provided by the participants.
