As Israel prepared for its general election on 17 March 2015, analysts wondered what impact might a victory of Benjamin Netanyahu have in the Israeli relation with the European Union.

During the electoral campaign, Mr Netanyahu clearly stated that under his government there would be no Palestinian state. His party, right-wing Likud, came out with a victory after a disputed race with the centre-left alliance.
