New EU support to private sector development and strengthening institutions in Belarus

On the 19 September 2016, the European Union announced to double the bilateral assistance package from €14.5 million in 2015 to €29 million in 2016 to Belarus. The funding should help the country to implement reforms, to support regional and private sector development, migration and asylum management, and it should also provide additional support to the European Humanities University in Vilnius.

The funding comes through the European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI) and is given to the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) countries.
