New talks on Syria in Lausanne

Euro|Topics relaunched their website during 2016. Features published before that date are still available via an archive website (see related url hyperlinks0Syria talks in Lausanne between key international players came to an end without any concrete results on the 15 October 2016. Nonetheless, the foreign ministers who were present - including those of the US, Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey - planned to stay in contact with each other. European leaders did not take part.

For commentators this was not enough. They called for concrete political initiatives.
