EurActiv reports that nine EU Member States (France, Germany and the United Kingdom + Austria, Denmark, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands and Sweden) were expected to table an official position in September 2011 critical of the European Commission's proposal for the EU's long-term budget for the period 2014-2020.
