‘Nitrates’ Directive (91/676/EEC): Status and trends of aquatic environment and agricultural practice. Development guide for Member States’ reports

This guide is an informal document drawn up in 1999 by the Commission in preparation for the first action programme deadline. It aims to facilitate, in terms of both content and form, the drawing-up of Member States' reports (Article 10). It also covers the Commission's summary report (Art.11) addressed to the Council, Parliament decision-makers and the general public on the situation within the Union concerning the pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources, its current and future evolution and the preventive measures to be set in place.
