Nomination of a new Bulgarian Commissioner following the resignation of Kristalina Georgieva

Reports on the nomination of a new Bulgarian Commissioner, following the resignation of Kristalina Georgieva in late 2016.

Due to the political situation in the country and a snap legislative election, media sources reported on the delay on this nomination. In May 2017, it was reported that Bulgaria's government had nominated Mariya Gabriel to become the new Commissioner.
