Nord Stream pipeline still on course despite doubts

Nord Stream, the controversial gas pipeline to link Russia and Germany under the Baltic Sea, is still on track in spite of doubts raised over the project, the company behind it has said. In an interview with the Financial Times, Nord Stream's finance director Paul Cocoran said he was confident the 1,200km pipeline would go ahead, in spite of an array of daunting financial, political and environmental challenges.

Im July 2009 EurActiv reported that GDF Suez, one of the world's largest utilities, was negotiating its participation in the Nord Stream gas pipeline project.
