North Atlantic Council visits Georgia to confirm NATO’s enduring support

NATO's North Atlantic Council (NAC) visited Georgia on 7-8 September 2016, aiming to reconfirm the importance of its partnership with the country.

During the meetings which were held, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Georgia had moved closer to membership, in what was seen as a show of support for Georgian NATO accession despite fierce Russian opposition.
