The European Ombudsman, Jacob Söderman, stated on 28 May 2002 that ' Temporary Committee of Inquiry set up by the European Parliament would be the only way to achieve a full and effective investigation of the matters raised in the complaint from MEP, Jens-Peter Bonde. The MEP's allegations concern the European Commission's handling of reform of the fisheries policy and the removal from his post of the former Director General of DG Fisheries. |
