On Thin Ice: UK Defence in the Arctic

The United Kingdom: House of Commons: Defence Committee published a report On Thin Ice: UK Defence in the Arctic on the 15 August 2018.

The report said that the United Kingdom must show greater ambition and apply more resources to address the developing security situation in the Arctic and the High North.

The report follows on from the Defence Committee’s last major report on the defence and security implications of a resurgent Russia, which identified the Arctic and High North as an area where Russia might seek to expand its presence and influence. This latest report examined military activity in the region in more detail.
