Opinion: Merkel’s Germany, a part-time hegemon

In this opinion piece the author writes that with the agreement of the 3rd Greek bailout in August 2015, German Chancellor Merkel has left Europe leaderless. Despite what were perceived as her latest victories in Brussels and Berlin were, if anything, pyrrhic ones. They have probably put an end to her decade of ever-growing power, be it in Germany or Europe.
