Opposition to Greek tax reform mounts

Popular opposition to an overhaul of Greece’s tax system mounted on the 23 March 2010 as lawyers launched a 48-hour strike and public sector employees held a three-hour stoppage.

The protests came as police tightened security in the centre of Athens following five bomb explosions in as many days. The blasts caused damage but no injuries.
