Organisations which represent the public at large will be given a second chance next week

to inject their views into the preparations for the review of the Maastricht Treaty. The European Parliament is organising a public hearing in Brussels on 26 and 27 February to canvass outside opinions. A similar exercise at the end of last year attracted almost 100 non-governmental organisations with interests in all areas of EU activity. The various submissions will provide a strong input for the Parliament's opinion on the Intergovernmental Conference, which is due to be delivered next month.
