Climate Change - Responses at regional level

Summary:

The autumn 2009 edition of Panorama magazine highlights the crucial role of EU regional policy in addressing climate change, arguably the main challenge facing mankind today.

Panorama presents two regions whose efforts to become energy independent are beginning to bear fruit (La Réunion, France and the city of Güssing in Burgenland, Austria) thanks to support received by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Other articles clarify what is at stake at the UN climate summit in Copenhagen in December 2009 and ask experts what regions can do to address climate change. Furthermore, Panorama explains how the recent changes made to the ERDF regulation can give a boost to sustainable energy investments in buildings.
