An urban agenda for the EU

Summary:

The main feature in this Autumn 2016 issue looks at the EU Urban Agenda, as established by the Amsterdam Pact agreed during the summer of 2016, and examines how it plans to improve life for city dwellers across the EU. The issue also looks at how the European Commission’s new package of measures to promote the circular economy will help reduce waste and encourage sustainability.

The in-depth coverage of one European region features Puglia in Italy, and includes an interview with the region's president and a selection of recent successful projects.

In addition, the issue considers developments in smart specialisation strategies, while the In Your Own Words section gives the floor to stakeholders from Finland, France, Germany, Portugal and Sweden. The projects section features contributions from the Baltic Region and Greece while the expanded project feature goes into more details about a green mobility solution in the Netherlands.
