Parliament upholds National Front MEP’s immunity from prosecution

Mr Florian Philppot, a French MEP and vice-president of the France's National Front, had his parliamentary immunity confirmed by a vote on 2 February 2016 after he was charged with libel for comments he had made in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo attacks, when he accused Qatar (and Saudi Arabia) of 'financing Islamism that kills'.
