Path to solving the impasse provoked by the Dutch rejection of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement

The Dutch prime minister indicated in October 2016 that he was looking into ways to respect the result of a referendum held in country rejecting the Association Agreement (AA) between Ukraine and the European Union without starting a new institutional crisis in the EU.

Media reported the most likely solution to be a separate declaration by the Netherlands stating how it interprets the EU’s treaty as regards the agreement between the two parts.
